You too can be a badass runner and
have one hell of a time while you’re at it.

THANKS for visiting Running Somewhere! I am excited to connect with you and all the fellow runners from the What-Have-I-Gotten-Myself-Into to the I-Just-Boston-Qualified!

One thing I want to make clear from the onset is that I am always here to help YOU become a better runner who loves the sport. I want you to have the best experience possible and without you this effort at Run Some would be meaningless.

Why Should You Read Run Some?

Run Some should be one of your top resources for being the best average runner possible. Yes, I am stating from the onset that you probably will not be winning the New York City Marathon by reading Run Some. However, you may just qualify for Boston or run your fastest 10k or start a running group of friends to lose weight and get fit.Run Some is your guide to being the best runner YOU can be and having one hell of a time doing so. With that said, I might as well give you an idea of my qualifications. You are forewarned that these are no outstanding times or accomplishments, but they are for me and that’s all I can give you. The best me.The following are my best results per distance…

  • 5k (3.1 mile) – 18:50
  • 10k (6.2 miles) – 38:50
  • ½ Marathon (13.1 miles) – 1:27:30
  • Marathon (26.2 miles) – 3:56:26 *Was on pace for 3:07:00 at 18.5 miles before Illiatibial Band (ITB) injury flared up (.…still finished though)

I have done many more races and have just touched the tip of the iceberg in my running career.

About David Damron

So, you want to know a little more about yours truly? I am honored. Growing up in Northern California, I frequently found myself outside doing anything that involved exploration and fitness. I played any and all sports I could. I eventually found myself becoming a gym rat following my illustrious high school basketball career. Then my running career began after one drunken college bet. Isn’t that how they all start?! After a buddy had run a 5k in a fairly decent time, he proceeded to brag about his time when we were having drinks that night. One thing led to another and I found myself running a 10k a few short weeks later. That’s when I fell in love. Since that time, I have run all distances and trained to try (still trying) and qualify for the Boston Marathon. My ideal lifestyle would be to take on random running and physical fitness challenges on a consistent basis. I strive to make this a reality.I am happily married with no kids (YET!…). My wife is an aspiring acupuncturist and is also a lover of the fit and healthy lifestyle.

Thanks for joining me on this fun ride. I hope we can connect further and continue to improve as runners together.
